This rental exceeded my expectations. The cabin is rustic and beautifully built on location by Ben. Ben met us promptly at the trailhead and escorted us up to the cabin where he oriented us and allowed us some time to recover and drop off our packs before he guided us up to the top of Ram Pasture. It was a difficult hike without a trail to 10,400 ft, but well worth it with magnificent views of the Beartooths and Yellowstone. There were only four of us in the cabin can accommodate a larger group. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a backcountry cabin getaway.

This cabin was ridiculous! Like, ridiculously good. Situated about an hours walk from Cooke City (for adults, probably longer with children), it is isolated in beautiful woods and wild flowers. Ben carried up 25kgs worth of food and drink (read: wine) for us, showed us around and gave us lots of tips. An enthusiastic and charismatic guy – it was lovely meeting him. And he built the cabin in 4 months from scratch (crazy!). We were only there for one night, but the cabin had everything one could possibly need. A great kitchen, lights and a stove fire to keep you warm. We spent the days hiking and the nights playing board games and having a few wines. It really was perfect. Highly recommend!
